A Request/Transmission form is to be used to update your address for service. In box 2 of the Request/Transmission form (where it says, “APPLICATION FOR”) please insert wording similar to the following:
Request to change my address for service. My new address for service is:
Anytown, MB R1A 1A1
Because this is not a matter that requires legal advice, our staff would be happy to assist you with this process. In order to take advantage of this service you need to do is come down in person to any one of the land titles offices in the province. Please note that other than the standard fee for the registration of this sort of request, there is no extra charge for this assistance.
Due to the importance of the address for service, land titles cannot change the address of a party who has not signed the request. There is no fee to update your address for service.
There are two types of addresses for service that you may need to register:
- Change of address on a title: This is registered as a request to issue title (TREQ), and we notify the tax assessment office of the change.
- Change address on an instrument: This is registered as a change of address (CADD), and the tax assessment office is not notified of the change.
